Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Ratusan atlet termasuk pelatih dalam kontingen Paralimpik Balikpapan, menerima bonus sebesar Rp 7,84 Miliar di aula kantor Pemerintah Kota, pada Senin (4/11/2024).
Adapun bonus tersebut dikucurkan oleh Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) melalui Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga dan Pariwisata (DPOP) Balikpapan. Dan diberikan kepada 168 atlet dan 34 pelatih dari 13 Cabang Olahraga (cabor) yang meraih juara umum pada Pekan Paralimpik Provinsi (Peparprov) Kaltim ke-4 tahun 2023.
"Saya atas nama Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan sangat berterima kasih. Tentu ini capaian yang sangat luar biasa. Semoga prestasi ini ke depan kita pertahankan dan ditingkatkan lagi," kata Pjs Wali Kota Balikpapan, Ahmad Muzakkir di dalam sambutannya.
Ahmad Muzakkir mengaku bangga kepada kontingen Balikpapan yang telah mengalahkan 10 Kabupaten/Kota se-Kalimantan Timur, sehingga menjadi juara umum pada ajang olahraga Paralimpik Provinsi (Peparprov) Kaltim ke-4 tahun 2023.
"Suatu kebanggaan, karena di pesta olahraga ini, kita bisa berhasil menjadi juara umum. Apalagi tidak mudah untuk menjadi juara umum," tuturnya.
Kendati demikian, ia berharap pemberian bonus tersebut sebagai ajang motivasi para atlet dan pelatih untuk lebih maju dan tidak hanya cukup berpuas diri.
"Jangan sampai bonus itu hanya menjadi kebanggan semata, tapi sebagai motivasi untuk mengembangkan diri agar lebih berprestasi," harapnya.
"Jadi mari berlatih yang lebih giat lagi. Bangun komunikasi dengan baik. Usahakan menjaga prestasi dengan rutin melakukan latihan," ucap Ahmad Muzakkir memotivasi.
Senada, Kepala Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga dan Pariwisata (DPOP) Balikpapan, Ratih Kusuma pun turut berbangga. Disebutkannya, dari 268 medali yang dibawa pulang, terdiri dari 142 emas, 77 perak dan 49 perunggu.
"Tentu kita patut berbangga, karena Kontingen Balikpapan meraih juara umum," tuntasnya. (man)
