Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Sebuah peristiwa mengejutkan terjadi pada Senin sore (5/5/2025), sekitar pukul 15.39 WITA. Sebuah kapal ferry yang melayani rute penyeberangan Balikpapan-Penajam dikabarkan terbalik di kawasan perairan Teluk Balikpapan.
Kapal tersebut diketahui tengah menuju Dermaga Kariangau, Balikpapan. Namun saat memasuki perairan teluk, ferry tersebut tiba-tiba oleng ke arah kanan dan akhirnya terguling. Kejadian tersebut sempat membuat warga sekitar panik dan beberapa dari mereka langsung merekam momen dramatis tersebut.
Dugaan sementara menyebutkan bahwa kapal mengalami kebocoran pada bagian lambung, yang menyebabkan ketidakseimbangan saat mendekati dermaga.
Hingga berita ini diturunkan, belum ada informasi resmi terkait jumlah korban maupun kendaraan yang turut tenggelam dalam insiden tersebut. (man)
