Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Pasca dilantiknya Muhaimin sebagai Kepala Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah (Bappeda) Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, posisi Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Kota Balikpapan resmi kosong. Kekosongan jabatan strategis tersebut pun memunculkan berbagai spekulasi terkait sosok yang akan mengisinya.
Sejumlah nama pejabat eselon II di lingkungan Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan mulai diperbincangkan publik. Salah satu yang mencuat adalah Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Kota Balikpapan, Irfan Taufik. Meski demikian, Pemerintah Kota belum memberikan pernyataan resmi terkait calon pengganti Muhaimin.
Wali Kota Balikpapan, H. Rahmad Mas’ud, menegaskan bahwa hingga saat ini belum ada keputusan mengenai siapa yang akan ditunjuk sebagai Sekda definitif. Ia pun enggan menanggapi rumor yang beredar di tengah masyarakat.
“Itu kan versi kalian, bukan saya yang menyampaikan,” ujar Rahmad saat dimintai tanggapan awak media usai menghadiri acara Ekspos Akhir Tahun 2025 Pemkot Balikpapan di BSCC Dome, Senin (22/12/2025).
Menurut Rahmad, seluruh pejabat eselon II di lingkungan Pemkot Balikpapan memiliki peluang yang sama untuk menduduki jabatan Sekda, sepanjang memenuhi kriteria dan mampu menjalankan amanah dengan baik.
“Siapa saja bisa. Yang terpenting adalah sosok yang layak, memiliki kapasitas, dan dapat mengemban tanggung jawab sebagai Sekda Kota Beriman,” tegasnya.
Rahmad memastikan, pengisian jabatan Sekda Balikpapan akan dilakukan secara cermat dan sesuai ketentuan yang berlaku, mengingat peran strategis Sekda dalam mengoordinasikan jalannya pemerintahan daerah.
Sementara itu, hingga proses penunjukan dilakukan, roda pemerintahan di lingkungan Pemkot Balikpapan dipastikan tetap berjalan normal. (man)
