Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Meskipun Pemerintah Pusat menerapkan kebijakan efisiensi anggaran, Wakil Wali (Wawali) Kota Balikpapan, Bagus Susetyo, memastikan bahwa program BPJS Kelas 3 gratis dan bantuan seragam pendidikan gratis bagi masyarakat tetap berlanjut pada tahun 2025 ini. Menurutnya, sektor pendidikan dan kesehatan tetap menjadi prioritas utama Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan.
"Efisiensi anggaran ini tidak akan mengganggu program-program penting seperti BPJS Kelas 3 gratis dan seragam pendidikan gratis. Kedua sektor ini akan tetap berjalan sesuai rencana," ujar Bagus saat menghadiri Rapat Paripurna DPRD Balikpapan pada Kamis (13/3/2025).
Bagus menjelaskan bahwa program BPJS Kelas 3 gratis akan diambil alih oleh Pemerintah Provinsi Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim), yang memungkinkan Pemkot Balikpapan mengalihkan anggaran sekitar Rp 90 miliar untuk program-program lain yang lebih langsung menyentuh masyarakat.
"Program BPJS Kelas 3 gratis ini akan diterapkan secara serentak di seluruh kabupaten/kota se-Kalimantan Timur, setelah Gubernur Kaltim mengadopsi program yang sukses di Balikpapan," lanjut Bagus.
Terkait kebijakan efisiensi anggaran, Bagus menyatakan bahwa Pemkot Balikpapan telah melakukan pemangkasan anggaran untuk perjalanan dinas (SPPD) hingga 50 persen. Langkah ini diambil untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan kebijakan Pemerintah Pusat yang lebih mengutamakan efisiensi pengeluaran negara.
"Fokus kami sekarang adalah mengoptimalkan program-program yang benar-benar memberikan dampak positif bagi masyarakat, seperti pelayanan air bersih, pembangunan sekolah, dan penanggulangan banjir," jelasnya.
Meski demikian, Bagus mengakui bahwa kebijakan efisiensi ini berdampak pada sektor pariwisata, terutama bagi para pelaku usaha hotel dan restoran di Kota Balikpapan. Namun, ia menegaskan bahwa langkah tersebut diambil untuk memastikan agar anggaran yang ada dapat lebih bermanfaat bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat secara luas.
Dengan upaya efisiensi anggaran ini, Pemkot Balikpapan berharap dapat lebih memfokuskan anggaran pada pembangunan infrastruktur dan peningkatan pelayanan publik untuk kepentingan jangka panjang masyarakat. (man)
