Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Musibah kebakaran melanda kawasan RT 24 Kelurahan Gunung Samarinda, Kecamatan Balikpapan Utara, Kamis malam (18/12/2025). Dalam peristiwa tersebut, dua bangunan yaitu satu unit rumah warga dan satu bengkel sepeda motor dilaporkan hangus terbakar. Kebakaran ini juga mengakibatkan satu korban jiwa.
Korban meninggal dunia diketahui seorang anak perempuan berusia 11 tahun dengan inisial SA, siswi kelas 5 SDN 001 Kecamatan Balikpapan Utara. Jenazah korban sudah dibawa ke rumah sakit untuk penangan medis selanjutnya.
Berdasarkan informasi yang dihimpun, peristiwa kebakaran terjadi sekitar pukul 22.23 Wita. Api dengan cepat membesar dan merambat di lokasi padat penduduk.
Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Kota Balikpapan menurunkan sekitar 10 armada pemadam kebakaran dari enam sektor. Puluhan unit itu berasal dari UPT Balikpapan Utara, Kota, Tengah dan lainnya. Alhasil, api berhasil dipadamkan hingga pukul 23.00 wita.
Hingga berita ini diturunkan, penyebab pasti kebakaran masih dalam proses penyelidikan oleh pihak berwenang. Aparat kepolisian bersama instansi terkait tengah mendalami, untuk mengetahui sumber api serta memastikan tak ada korban lainnya.
Peristiwa ini meninggalkan duka mendalam bagi keluarga korban dan warga sekitar. Pihak berwenang mengimbau masyarakat agar selalu meningkatkan kewaspadaan terhadap potensi kebakaran, terutama pada malam hari, guna mencegah kejadian serupa terulang kembali. (man)
