Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Anggota Komisi II DPRD Kota Balikpapan, Suwanto dari Fraksi PDI menggelar kegiatan reses di kediamannya (kandang banteng), RT 69, Kelurahan Gunung Sari Ilir, Balikpapan Tengah, pada Rabu (13/11/2024).
Sebanyak 182 pelaku UMKM Balikpapan Tengah yang didominasi oleh kumpulan emak-emak, difasilitasi Suwanto untuk bertemu langsung dengan perwakilan Dinas Koperasi UMKM dan Perindustrian (DKUMKMP) dan Camat Balikpapan Tengah, Agung Budi, untuk menyampaikan segala kendala serta keluhan yang dihadapi.
Suwanto mengatakan, adapun kesimpulan yang dipetiknya dalam kegiatan tersebut, bahwa para pelaku UMKM ini ingin lebih terlibat lebih jauh dalam memperkenalkan produk makanan dan minumannya. Supaya, DKUMKMP melibatkan mereka di dalam setiap agenda-agenda Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan.
"Karena sejauh ini UMKM Balikpapan Tengah kebanyakan ikut dalam even-even pameran ekonomi kreatif (ekraf) secara mandiri. Jadi mereka ingin dilibatkan juga dalam kegiatan-kegiatan yang menjadi agenda Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan," ungkap Suwanto pasca reses.
Selain itu, ratusan pelaku usaha ini juga berkeinginan memiliki gerai centra UMKM di Balikpapan Tengah, sebagai wadah untuk menjual seluruh hasil-hasil produksinya.
"Saat ini belum ada tempat tersebut, jadi kami dorong Pemerintah untuk ikut terlibat dalam pengadaan tempat itu. Ini penting, karena UMKM mampu merubah pendapatan ekonomi rumah tangga," kata Dewan dapil Balikpapan Tengah itu.
Suwanto pun berharap supaya produk lokal itu dapat bertumbuh pesat dalam sektor market di retail-retail dalam Kota.
Ke depannya, Suwanto mengupayakan menggelar Rapat Dengar Pendapat (RDP) di kantor DPRD, bersama manajemen seluruh retail-retail yang ada khususnya di Balikpapan Tengah.
"Jadi nanti kami akan RDP bersama retail-retail itu, supaya mereka mau terlibat aktif dalam membantu memasarkan produk-produk UMKM lokal Balikpapan," tandasnya.
Sementara itu, Camat Balikpapan Tengah, Agung Budi mengaku memandang potensi UMKM di Balikpapan Tengah cukup menjanjikan.
Oleh karena itu, ia berupaya memperluaskan produk-produk tersebut dengan melihat adanya potensi dari ke dua hotel yang berdiri tegak di Kecamatan Balikpapan Tengah.
"Saya sudah pernah bertemu dengan manajemen hotel Pasifik dan Neo. Saya mempunyai keinginan agar produk UMKM kita go show di dua hotel tersebut," harapnya.
Senada, Ketua UMKM Balikpapan Tengah, Diah mengaku bercita-cita memiliki tempat untuk dijadikan ajang memamerkan dan memasarkan semua hasil produk olahan lokal Kota Beriman.
"Kami berharap di satu kelurahan di Balikpapan Tengah, diberikan tempat untuk mengembangkan usaha kami," tutupnya. (man)
