POROSKALTIM.COM, BALIKPAPAN – Rektor Universitas Balikpapan, Dr. Ir. M.
Isradi Zainal, M.T., M.H., M.M., DESS., M.K.K.K., IPU, resmi menandatangani
kerja sama penyelenggaraan Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat (PKPA) dan Ujian
Kompetensi Dasar Profesi Advokat (UKDPA) pada Kamis (21/8/2025).
Acara tersebut turut dihadiri oleh Pembina YAPENTI DWK Universitas Balikpapan, Dr. H. Rendi Susiswo Ismail, SE., SH., MH., serta Dekan Fakultas Hukum Universitas Balikpapan, Dr. Bruce Anzward, S.H., M.H., yang juga ditunjuk sebagai ketua koordinator kampus. Selain itu, hadir pula Ketua Presidium Kongres Advokat Indonesia (KAI) DPD Kalimantan Timur, Adv. Roy Yuniarso, SH., MH., CIL., CTL., bersama Presidium KAI, Adv. Bambang Wijanarko, SH., CIL., CPArd., dan Adv. Riri Lubis W., SH., MH.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut ditegaskan bahwa PKPA merupakan
pendidikan lanjutan yang wajib ditempuh bagi Sarjana Hukum yang ingin berkarier
sebagai advokat. Pendidikan ini menjadi syarat mutlak sebelum memangku jabatan
tersebut. Hal itu sejalan dengan Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 18
Tahun 2003 tentang Advokat, yang menyebutkan bahwa calon advokat harus terlebih
dahulu mengikuti PKPA.
Kerja sama antara Universitas Balikpapan dengan DPP Kongres
Advokat Indonesia ini menjadi langkah nyata dalam mempersiapkan lulusan hukum
agar tidak hanya memiliki kompetensi profesional, tetapi juga berkarakter,
berintegritas, dan mampu bersaing secara global.
Bagi masyarakat maupun lulusan hukum yang berminat, dapat
segera mendaftarkan diri melalui DPP maupun DPD Kongres Advokat Indonesia
Kalimantan Timur untuk mengikuti program PKPA. (*)
