Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN – Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Balikpapan melaksanakan upacara peringatan Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) ke-80 Republik Indonesia di halaman Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center (BSCC) Dome, pada Minggu (17/8/2025) pagi.
Upacara yang dimulai pukul 10.00 WITA itu berlangsung khidmat dan diikuti ribuan tamu undangan. Hadir dalam kesempatan tersebut jajaran pejabat Pemkot Balikpapan, anggota DPRD Kota, tokoh masyarakat, tokoh pemuda, serta para ketua RT dari seluruh wilayah Balikpapan.
Wali Kota Balikpapan, H. Rahmad Mas’ud, bertindak sebagai
inspektur upacara. Dalam amanatnya, ia menegaskan bahwa peringatan Hari
Kemerdekaan setiap 17 Agustus bukan hanya menjadi ajang seremonial, melainkan
juga momentum untuk memperkuat komitmen membangun bangsa.
“Kita semua tidak memiliki jasa langsung dalam merebut
kemerdekaan. Namun tugas kita hari ini adalah bagaimana mengisi kemerdekaan
dengan karya nyata, melanjutkan cita-cita para pahlawan, mengabdi, membangun,
dan menyejahterakan masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Rahmad juga memberikan pesan khusus kepada generasi muda
agar tetap menjaga nasionalisme dan keutuhan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia
(NKRI).
“NKRI harga mati. Dengan segala kekurangan yang ada, kita
harus terus melakukan evaluasi, memperbaiki, dan membangun agar bangsa ini
semakin kuat,” tegasnya.
Rangkaian upacara turut dimeriahkan oleh penampilan pasukan
pengibar bendera (Paskibraka) yang terdiri dari pelajar-pelajar terbaik Kota
Balikpapan. Selain itu, tamu undangan juga disuguhkan penampilan seni budaya khas
Balikpapan, berupa tarian tradisional yang menambah semarak suasana peringatan
hari bersejarah tersebut. (rud)
