Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Komisi II DPRD Balikpapan menggelar Rapat Dengar Pendapat (RDP) di kantor Dinas Pangan, Pertanian dan Perikanan, Gunung Bakaran, Kecamatan Balikpapan Selatan, Rabu (22/1/2025) pagi.
Adapun pertemuan itu, guna membahas ketidaklayakan tempat Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) yang berada di kawasan Kelurahan Graha Indah, dan kurang maksimalnya ketersedian pangan untuk masyarakat di seluruh kota Beriman.
Usai memimpin jalannya RDP, Ketua Komisi II DPRD Kota Balikpapan, Fauzi Adi Firmansyah mengatakan, bahwa pihaknya pun saat ini berfokus pada pembenahan RPH, agar tempat fasilitas itu sejatinya dimodernisasi hingga menjadi lebih layak.
Di mana saat ini, ada kajian yang tengah dijalankan oleh DP3 Balikpapan untuk memodernisasi.
"Fokus kami ingin melakukan modernisasi RPH, Karena yang saat ini berada di Graha Indah itu kurang layak dan masih dianggap belum memenuhi standar," ungkap Adi kepada media.
Di samping itu, dalam menjalankan fungsi pengawasan, pihaknya pun meminta DP3 Balikpapan untuk memberikan laporan-laporan per-tiga bulan, agar Komisi II lebih mengetahui informasi kegiatan-kegiatan apa saja yang akan direalisasikan.
"Karena laporan itu sudah tersusun, maka kami merekomendasikan agar mereka (DP3, red) memberikan laporan per-tiga bulan kepada Komisi II sebagai fungsi pengawasan, sehingga kami bisa mengikuti kegiatan-kegiatan DP3 yang selama ini kurang terekspos," ujar politisi Golkar itu.
Adi menambahkan, Komisi II juga mendorong maksimalnya ketersedian bahan pangan di Kota Beriman. Sehingga pangan yang ada tidak terlalu lagi bergantung dari distribusi luar wilayah yakni Sulawesi dan Jawa.
"Untuk keseluruhan di Balikpapan, ketersedian pangan baru bisa memenuhi sekitar 15 persen, dan sisanya kebanyakan disuply dari Sulawesi dan Jawa," jelasnya.
"Jadi ini yang sedang kami cari formulasinya, untuk bagaimana agar Balikpapan bisa swasembada pangan mandiri secara maksimal," akunya.
Oleh karena itu ada beberapa masukan dari Komisi II berkaitan kegiatan-kegiatan untuk swasembada pangan seperti halnya untuk ketersedian telur, daging ayam dan daging sapi. (man)
