Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Polda Kalimantan Timur melalui Direktorat Reserse Kriminal Khusus (Ditreskrimsus) berhasil mengungkap kasus tindak pidana peretasan dan pengambilalihan akun media sosial Instagram yang melibatkan empat orang tersangka.
Keberhasilan ini diumumkan dalam konferensi pers yang digelar di Gedung Mahakam Polda Kaltim, Selasa (4/3/2025), yang dipimpin oleh Kabid Humas Polda Kaltim, Kombes Pol. Yuliyanto didampingi oleh Kasubdit 5 Cyber Ditreskrimsus Polda Kaltim, Kompol Ariansyah serta sejumlah pejabat terkait.
Dalam pengungkapan ini, Ditreskrimsus Polda Kaltim berhasil mengamankan empat tersangka, masing-masing berinisial AL (27), MFA (24), MDI (24), dan AP (19), yang seluruhnya berasal dari Kabupaten Pinrang, Sulawesi Selatan.
Dari tangan para pelaku, polisi menyita 10 barang bukti, di antaranya lima unit ponsel berbagai merek, yang digunakan khusus untuk melakukan aksi peretasan, uang tunai sebesar Rp 5 juta yang diduga hasil kejahatan, akun WhatsApp, email, serta SIM card yang terkait dengan tindak pidana ini.
"Para pelaku diduga menggunakan teknik phishing dan social engineering untuk memperoleh akses ilegal ke akun Instagram korban. Berdasarkan hasil penyelidikan, mereka kemudian memanfaatkan akun yang diretas untuk kepentingan pribadi maupun transaksi ilegal," ungkap Kabid Humas Polda Kaltim, Kombes Pol. Yuliyanto.
Atas perbuatannya, keempat tersangka dijerat dengan Pasal 46 Ayat (1) dan (2) Jo Pasal 30 Ayat (1) dan (2) Undang-Undang Nomor 11 Tahun 2008, sebagaimana telah diubah dengan UU Nomor 1 Tahun 2024 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (ITE). Ancaman hukuman bagi para tersangka adalah maksimal 7 tahun penjara dan/atau denda hingga Rp 700 juta.
Kabid Humas Polda Kaltim, Kombes Pol. Yuliyanto, menegaskan bahwa kepolisian akan terus melakukan patroli siber untuk menangani berbagai kejahatan digital yang semakin marak.
"Masyarakat diimbau untuk selalu menjaga keamanan akun media sosial dengan menerapkan autentikasi dua faktor (2FA) serta tidak mudah tergoda oleh tautan mencurigakan yang beredar di dunia maya," tutupnya.
Konferensi pers ini berlangsung dengan lancar dan mendapat perhatian luas dari media serta masyarakat, sebagai bentuk transparansi Polda Kaltim dalam menangani kasus kejahatan siber. (*/rud)
