poroskaltim.com, Balikpapan - Komisi II DPRD Balikpapan mengunjungi Sentra Industri Kecil Somber (SIKS) di Balikpapan Utara pada Jumat (31/1/2025) untuk meninjau infrastruktur dan fasilitas produksi tahu dan tempe. Kunjungan ini dihadiri oleh Sekretaris Komisi II, Taufik Qul Rahman, bersama anggota DPRD lainnya serta Kepala DKUMKMP Balikpapan, Heruressandy Setia Kesuma.
Taufik menilai kawasan ini memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai destinasi wisata kuliner dan edukasi, namun masih terdapat banyak area yang kurang terawat. Ia berharap perbaikan lingkungan dan infrastruktur dapat dilakukan melalui anggaran perubahan 2025. Selain itu, rencana berkolaborasi dengan akademisi dari UGM dan universitas lain juga akan dilakukan untuk merancang konsep wisata edukatif yang menarik.
Heruressandy menyambut baik inisiatif Komisi II dan mengakui bahwa pemeliharaan sentra industri masih memerlukan dukungan lebih lanjut. Dengan adanya perbaikan dan pengelolaan yang lebih baik, SIKS diharapkan dapat berkembang tidak hanya sebagai pusat produksi tetapi juga sebagai destinasi wisata yang mampu meningkatkan Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD).
Kunjungan ini menjadi langkah awal dalam merancang program yang mendukung industri kecil serta mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal. (sal)
