Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Insiden kebakaran melanda SMK Negeri 5 di Kelurahan Lamaru, Kecamatan Balikpapan Timur, pada Kamis siang (8/5/2025), menyebabkan kerusakan berat pada tujuh ruang kelas serta kerusakan ringan di satu aula sekolah.
Kebakaran diperkirakan bermula dari percikan api di bagian atap bangunan yang diduga kuat akibat korsleting listrik. Peristiwa tersebut terjadi sekitar pukul 13.15 Wita dan tidak menimbulkan korban jiwa.
Tanggap darurat dilakukan dengan cepat oleh Tim Pammat Dit Samapta Polda Kalimantan Timur. Mereka segera mengerahkan Unit Rantis Karhutla beserta personel ke lokasi untuk membantu proses pemadaman.
Proses penanganan berlangsung intensif dan akhirnya api berhasil dijinakkan sekitar pukul 15.02 Wita, yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses pendinginan area.
Penanganan kebakaran ini melibatkan sinergi berbagai instansi, termasuk Unit TRC PB, sektor wilayah timur, selatan, dan kota, BPBD Kaltim, PLN, PSC 119, serta TNI, Polri, PMI, PDAM, Dinas Perhubungan, Satpol PP/Linmas, hingga perangkat kelurahan, kecamatan, relawan, dan masyarakat setempat.
“Kami segera bertindak setelah menerima laporan. Koordinasi lintas instansi kami lakukan agar proses pemadaman berjalan lancar dan situasi tetap kondusif,” ujar Bripda Ronal Arbai, Danru Piket Pammat Regu 3, yang memimpin langsung proses pemadaman.
Kapolda Kalimantan Timur melalui Dit Samapta menyampaikan apresiasi kepada seluruh pihak yang terlibat dalam penanganan kejadian ini.
Saat ini, pihak kepolisian masih terus menjalin koordinasi dengan instansi terkait guna menyelidiki penyebab pasti kebakaran dan meminimalkan dampak lanjutan di lokasi. (man)
