Poroskaltim.com, BALIKPAPAN - Undang mitranya ke kantor parlemen, Komisi II DPRD Kota Balikpapan menggelar Rapat Dengar Pendapat (RDP) bersama Perumda Tirta Manuntung Balikpapan (PTMB), pada Kamis (7/11/2024).
Seusai memimpin rapat, Ketua Komisi II DPRD Kota Balikpapan, Fauzi Adi Firmansyah mengatakan, bahwa terlaksananya RDP tersebut dalam rangka menjalin silaturahmi bersama mitra. Mengingat, kata dia, anggota komisi II diisi oleh susunan baru di periode 2024-2029 ini.
Adi sapaan karibnya melanjutkan, dalam menatap lima tahun ke depan, dirasa perlu untuk menjalin komunikasi bersama mitra guna memberikan keterangan kepada masyarakat, atas beberapa keluhan terkait problem aliran air bersih dari PTMB/PDAM.
Sehingga paling tidak, kata dia, pihaknya nantinya bisa menjelaskan kepada masyarakat mengenai situasi PDAM.
"Alhamdulillah undangan kami direspon baik PDAM. Yang dihadiri oleh Dirut, Dirops dan Dirum," ungkap Adi pasca RDP.
Adi menjelaskan, ada beberapa poin yang dibahas dalam RDP, namun yang masih mengemuka adalah kendala keterbatasan air bersih yang belum sanggup memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat luas Kota Balikpapan.
"Setelah diskusi tadi dengan membeberkan data, PDAM memang mengakui pendistribusian air memang belum maksimal mensuplai seluruh pelanggan. Begitupun dengan kualitas air yang kurang baik tersalurkan dibeberapa titik," terangnya.
Namun begitu, PDAM berterus terang sudah melakukan perbaikan-perbaikan dalam mencari solusi. Dan menjadi fokus lainnya adalah menghadirkan air baku supaya tidak terbatas.
"Jadi tadi penyampaian wacana yang menjadi program PDAM yaitu melakukan desalinasi air laut untuk jangka panjang. Sedangkan jangka pendeknya adalah suplai air secara merata dengan sistem buka tutup," tuntasnya. (rud)
