Suasana semarak terasa di Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan (Poltekba), Senin
(25/8/2025), saat turnamen Futsal Series 2025 resmi digelar. Ajang ini jadi
panggung buat para pelajar SMA/SMK se-Balikpapan yang hobi futsal sekaligus
punya semangat untuk unjuk kemampuan.
Turnamen ini
sendiri mendapat dukungan penuh dari Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan dan Asosiasi
Futsal Kota (Afkot). Wali Kota Balikpapan melalui Kepala Bidang Olahraga
Disporapar, M. Norhan, menyampaikan bahwa futsal bukan sekadar olahraga, tapi
juga wadah pembentukan karakter generasi muda.
“Pemkot
berharap dari sini lahir atlet-atlet muda yang nantinya bisa membawa nama
Balikpapan hingga ke level nasional,” ujar Norhan saat membuka acara.
Selain jadi
ajang kompetisi, Futsal Series juga disiapkan sebagai langkah awal menuju Pra
Porprov Kalimantan Timur 2025. Harapannya, dari turnamen ini terbentuk tim
futsal yang solid dan kompetitif.
Tidak hanya
itu, pembukaan turnamen juga dirangkai dengan pelantikan pengurus baru Afkot Balikpapan.
Norhan menilai, dengan semangat baru dan kerja sama yang lebih kuat, masa depan
futsal Balikpapan semakin menjanjikan.
Sebagai tuan
rumah, Poltekba juga merasa bangga bisa ikut ambil bagian. Wakil Direktur
Bidang Kemahasiswaan, Chandra, S.T., M.Si., menegaskan bahwa kampusnya tidak
hanya menyediakan lapangan, tapi juga membuka jalan bagi para atlet muda untuk
melanjutkan pendidikan.
“Poltekba
punya jalur prestasi khusus untuk atlet, termasuk beasiswa sampai empat tahun.
Jadi mereka bisa tetap berprestasi di lapangan sekaligus meraih masa depan
lewat pendidikan,” jelasnya.
Turnamen ini
diikuti 24 tim pelajar dari berbagai sekolah. Antusiasme peserta dan dukungan
banyak pihak jadi bukti bahwa futsal bukan cuma soal menang atau kalah, tapi
juga soal membangun karakter, sportivitas, dan solidaritas.
Dengan semangat yang ditunjukkan para pemain, Futsal
Series 2025 tak sekadar jadi kompetisi, tapi juga jadi momen kebersamaan yang
mempertemukan sekolah, kampus, pemerintah, hingga organisasi olahraga
dalam satu lapangan. (rud)
